George Benson is an American jazz and funk singer- songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Starting his musical career in 1954, he recorded his debut single, She Makes Me Mad, aged 10, under the name Little Georgie. He released his debut album, ‘The New Boss Guitar’ in 1964 and has since released 34 albums, the latest being ‘Walking To New Orleans’, in 2019. He is best known for ‘Breezin’, released in 1976, which went triple platinum and hit #1 in the Billboard Hot 200, as well as ‘Livin' Inside Your Love’, which came out in 1979, and 1980's ‘Give Me the Night’.
George Benson has rescheduled his headline UK tour to June 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
