We are delighted to be working with Sharps Brewery in Cornwall, best known for its flagship ale Doom Bar, and four real characters from the world of football, to bring you a truly exclusive and entertaining evening for your clients and guests in the comfort of their own homes! The two-hour event will see your guests’ sample six different beers from Sharps which we post out in advance, with leading Beer Sommelier, Ed Hughes giving you the lowdown on each beer. Your chosen football star from the below list, will give their thoughts on each beer, in addition to answering questions from your presenter and from your clients and guests throughout the evening.
Ed Hughes is a leading Beer Sommelier regularly featuring on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen and in 2018 he co-authored Sharp’s first cookbook brimming with more than 60 recipes inspired by the Cornish coast. ‘Just Add Beer’ profiles some of the UK’s top chefs – from award-winning street food chefs to those with Michelin stars to their names and we will include a copy of this book for all of your guests within your beer packs. Ed provides expert beer tastings both at the brewery and with key customers, as well as beer and food matching to audiences at events around the country. Another string to Ed’s bow is judging beer industry competitions, for example the SIBA, World Beer Awards and the European Beer Star in Munich.
This will be a really fun evening for all of your guests, with them tasting and finding out more about some high-quality beer, whilst hearing some hilarious stories from four of sports biggest characters!

Ally McCoist: Ally scored an incredible 251 goals in 418 games for Rangers, winning ten league titles. He also made 61 appearances for Scotland, was a team captain on the BBC’s ‘A Question of Sport’ for 9 years and is now a regular pundit on ITV’s football and Talksport radio.
Alan Brazil: Alan played football at the top level for Ipswich, Tottenham, Manchester United and Scotland before injury forced him to quit the game. He has since been a host of the Talksport Radio Breakfast Show for over 20 years.
Ray Parlour: Ray made 339 appearances for Arsenal in a 12-year career, winning three league titles, four FA Cups and also achieving 10 England caps. The ‘Romford Pele’ as he was nicknamed, is now a regular on Talksport radio.
Lee Sharpe: Lee made 193 appearances for Manchester United, winning three league titles, two FA Cup’s and a European Cup Winners Cup. He also made 8 England appearances and has appeared and presented many TV shows.
